Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board serves as the advisory board for the Town of Clayton's Parks and Recreation Department and for the Town.
This Board will suggest policies and those involved with the Town government and the Parks and Recreation Department on things directly affecting recreation policy, programs, personnel, finances, and the sell and acquisition of lands that affect the community recreation programs and its long-range, projected programs.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board serves as an advisory body to the Council, offering guidance and recommendations on the development, operation, and maintenance of parks, recreational programs, and facilities. The board is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the community through the promotion of recreational opportunities and the preservation of natural spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise on Parks and Recreation Planning: Provide input on the planning, development, and improvement of parks, trails, recreational facilities, and open spaces.
- Review Recreational Programs: Evaluate and recommend recreational programs and activities that serve the needs and interests of the community, including sports, fitness, and cultural events.
- Promote Public Engagement: Encourage community involvement in parks and recreational activities, ensuring that residents have access to quality recreational options and that their needs are considered.
- Support Environmental Stewardship: Promote initiatives that protect and preserve natural resources, such as green spaces, waterways, and wildlife habitats, within parks and recreational areas.
You will also see members of this Board helping out at different events and programs that are sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.
