Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library Advisory Board
The Town of Clayton Library Board holds meetings throughout the year to determine the direction in which the library can best serve its patrons.
The Library Board is an advisory body to our municipal library which is funded by the Town of Clayton. The Board will serve as a liaison between the Library Department, Town Manager, Town Council, and community. The Board will consult/advise the Library Director, Town Manager, Deputy Town Manager and Town Council in matters affecting library policies, programs, finances, and as well as any other issues related to the library.
The Library Advisory Board serves as an advisory body to the Council and the library’s administration, offering recommendations on policies, programs, and services that enhance the quality and accessibility of library resources for the community. The board plays an important role in supporting the library's mission to provide educational, cultural, and informational resources to all residents.

- Advise on Library Policies: Provide input on library policies and procedures to ensure they meet the evolving needs of the community, including collection development, library hours, and patron services.
- Support Library Programs: Offer recommendations on educational and cultural programs, workshops, and events that enrich the lives of residents and promote lifelong learning.
- Promote Community Engagement: Advocate for the library within the community by promoting its programs, services, and events, and encouraging residents to take advantage of all the library has to offer.
- Advise on Facility Improvements: Provide input on the development and improvement of library facilities, ensuring that spaces are welcoming, accessible, and meet the needs of all users.
