Halloween 2020
Almost every beloved event in 2020 has been impacted by COVID-19 in some way and Halloween will certainly be no different. For the last 3 decades, thousands of little ghouls and goblins have crowded Main Street in Downtown Clayton to trick-or-treat at local businesses on October 31 and hundreds have joined the Clayton Youth Council on a hayride through Clayton Community Park. However with restrictions on gathering sizes in place by the N.C. Governor’s office and specific guidance on the potential dangers of hayrides, the Downtown Clayton Trick-or-Treat and Halloween Hayride events are not possible this year.

Clayton Transitions to New Leadership
The Clayton Town Council voted to accept the resignation of Town Manager Adam Lindsay and appoint a new interim manager. Clayton has only had two managers in the past 23 years and Lindsay served for the past four, a time of tremendous growth for the town. The Town will now turn to JD Solomon, a 30-year resident who has worked as a consultant for Clayton for many years on a wide range of management, engineering and planning projects. Listen in as Council takes the vote and hear from Solomon on his history with the town and the work that lies ahead.
