Town Leaders Stand with Community Against Racism & Police Brutality
In just one week, Clayton has shifted from one crippling crisis to another. And once again, in the face of crisis, the Clayton community is coming together. Our Mayor, Town Council, Police Chief, Fire Chief and all other Town leaders want Clayton to know...we stand with this community against racism and police brutality and we denounce those involved in the death of 46-year-old Minneapolis father George Floyd. A peacful prayer event was held in Town Square on Tuesday night and 3 others are planned for Saturday between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. including a Clayton High School student who would like to bring people togther at the school and then walk to Town Square.

Listen in as the Town Manager goes over the 2021 Fiscal Year budget with the Mayor & Town Council - it does not include a tax rate increase, but does include the water & sewer increase that has been discussed for several years. You can view the entire budget by clicking below. You can email your comments and weigh in on the Town's budget in a public hearing set for June 15 at 6 p.m. A public hearing looking for input for town staff who were about to formulate their budgets was held in January 21, however, COVID-19 forced all departments to alter their budget requests.

Construction on Greenway Extension Underway
Clayton is building a $3.5 million pedestrian tunnel and greenway extension into Downtown Clayton! Construction has closed Legend Park and will mean temporary shutdowns of O’Neil Street and the Sam’s Branch Trailhead and parking area - exact dates have not been determined, but the closure of O'Neil will likely be in the spring of 2020 and will mean drivers needing to detour down Covered Bridge and City Road. The greenway will connect to Legend Park, giving walkers, runners and bicyclists a safe and scenic trail into Downtown Clayton.
