The goal of Clayton Police Department Teen Academy is to:
- To promote responsible citizenship among young people.
- To foster positive interactions between young people and police officers while educating them about the challenges and responsibilities of police work.
- To inspire young people to take an active role in their community.
Teen Academy is a program filled with classroom sessions, field trips, and valuable lectures. Hosted at the Clayton Police Department, students will engage in a variety of topics such as law, behavioral science, drug prevention, gang resistance, and life skills. In addition to classroom instruction, students will participate in interactive role-playing exercises and demonstrations. Transportation will be provided for field trips, and all locations are easily accessible via public transportation.
It's important to dress appropriately for the program, avoiding any dirty or torn clothing.
Application Information:
For an applicant to be considered, they must be between 13 and 19 years old and fully complete the application before submitting it.
Applicants are also required to submit a one-minute video on why they would like to attend the Clayton Police Department Teen Academy.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Addtional Details:
- Applications will be reviewed upon arrival, and you will be notified if you have been selected to attend.
- Upon approval to attend the academy, the applicant would be required to bring a parent or guardian signed and notarized waiver to the police department.
