Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m to 2 p.m.

As a resident of the Town of Clayton, you're entitled to a FREE library card at Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library. We have thousands of books, DVDs, books on CD, as well as an extensive eBook and eAudiobook collection. Your card gives you access to all of those materials!

Normally, we ask you to come to the library and present proof of residence to sign up for a card. However, while we’re closed for COVID-19, we want to extend to you the ability to sign up for a card online so that you can get access to our eBook and eAudiobook collections.

From now until further notice, Town residents can fill out this form below. Once you submit, we’ll email you back with a card number, pin number, and information about using our catalog and app. Then you'll be able to go to our OverDrive library, our e-iNC library and our special NC children's online library  We'll be emailing new card holders these easy instructions to help you download and get access to the apps Libby Instructions for Overdrive and Libby Instructions for E-iNC.

We know that many of you will be at home for the foreseeable future, and we are doing our best to help meet your entertainment and information needs. We have many children’s materials in our online collections for those of you who are home with kids, and we hope you’ll use! We'll also be ramping up our posts regarding activities and resources that you can access from home. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Good luck to you all in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to see you again! And if you already have a library care, but can't remember you pin, just email us!

If you have questions, please call us at 919-553-5542, Extension 1 or email us at claytonlibrary@townofclaytonnc.org
