Welcome the Town of Clayton, North Carolina

Town Facilities Closed July 4th - Festivities Begin at 4 p.m. Thursday

Clayton Town Hall and all administrative offices will be closed Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day – and we hope you'll join us at Municipal Park, where our 39th Annual July 4th Celebration begins at 4 p.m.!

All Star Waste Services will NOT run garbage, recycling or yard waste routes on July 4 – but you should put your carts to the curb as usual all week. Thursday routes will be collected Friday and Friday routes will be collected Friday and part of Saturday morning, so get those carts out as normal!

The July 4th facility closures include Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, the Clayton Community CenterThe Clayton Center and Town Hall — including our Utilities & Billing department. If you have an emergency, call 911.

Celebrate our nation's independence at 39th annual July 4th Celebration and Fireworks at Municipal Park, 325 McCullers Drive, just off Stallings Street in Downtown Clayton!

The fun starts Thursday, July 4 at 4 p.m. with free family events on the field, basketball competitions, watermelon and ice cream giveaways, a hose down by the Clayton Fire Department and a free concert with Big Love! Big Love is a six-piece dance band based out of Raleigh. They play a variety of great music that gets people moving, from the classics to current hits and including jazz, disco, pop, funk, R&B, and beach.

Also look out for food vendors, a cornhole tournament, inflatables and fair rides, bingo and raffles throughout the night. The fireworks shoot off at dark, and the inflatables and rides will run another half hour after the show. That way, you can have more fun instead of sitting in traffic!

If you want to see all the fireworks – the best show in the area – and have all the fun, you've got to be at Municipal Park on July 4!! Click here for full details about the festivities, including event and parking maps.

Watch this video and you'll see we had the greatest time last year, so let's do it again on Thursday, July 4th, 2018!
