Free Opioid Overdose Info & Lifesaving Kits on Sept. 26 (Register Now)

09/18/2018

Call Johnston County Opioid Task Force at 919-989-5200 to register for this potentially-lifesaving opportunity.

Learn how to recognize and react to an OPIOID OVERDOSE! Join us 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, 100 S. Church St. in Downtown Clayton – You could save a loved one's life!

We will teach you how to respond to an overdose and administer the life saving overdose reversal agent, Naloxone. You will receive information on Overdose Prevention laws in North Carolina, be connected with local resources in Johnston County, and receive a free nasal Naloxone kit to take home in the event you need it to save a loved one’s life.

In 2016, North Carolina lost 1,505 residents to opioid-related drug overdoses, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. That's a rate of 15.4 deaths per 100,000 residents – well above the national average of 13.3 deaths per 100,000 – and the number is increasing every year!

Don't let your loved ones become a grim statistic!

This program is a partnership of the Clayton Police Department, Johnston County Emergency Services and Johnston County Opioid Task Force.
