Holiday Closures and Garbage Changes


Town Offices CLOSED for State Holiday Schedule - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Recreation and Library Facilities CLOSED ALL WEEK for Maintenance
Garbage Collection Runs Normal EXCEPT for Wednesday, Christmas Day 
ALL Facilities CLOSED on New Year's Day

  • The Parks & Recreation's Clayton Community Center and Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library are CLOSED to the public Monday-Friday, December 23-27, for maintenance and the holidays. All classes and programs are canceled. Both will re-open for normal hours on Saturday, December 28.
  • The Public Works/Operations Center, administrative offices of Police and Fire and ALL Town Hall offices, including Utilities & Billing, will be open Monday and Friday, but CLOSED on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Christmas Eve day, Christmas day and the day after Christmas). Emergency police, fire and rescue services may be reached by calling 9-1-1.
  • All Star will run garbage, recycling and yard waste routes as normal, EXCEPT routes will NOT run Wednesday, December 25. PUT CARTS OUT AS NORMAL! All Star will begin to collect Wednesday and Thursday routes early Thursday morning and will catch up quickly. Put Friday carts out as normal and any routes remaining will be collected Saturday morning. Again, please put carts out the night before your normal day as usual! When in doubt, leave it out!
  • The Clayton Center will be CLOSED from Tuesday, December 24 through January 1. They will reopen on January 2 at 10 AM. Gift certificates and tickets to all upcoming events can be purchased online at theclaytoncenter.com.  

The Clayton Community Center and the Clayton Library will be closing at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, New Year's Eve. All Town of Clayton facilities will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, for New Year's Day. All Town facilities will reopen as usual Tuesday, Jan. 2.
