Tonight: Clayton High School Homecoming Parade & Hometown Debates

The Clayton High School Homecoming Parade is tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Downtown Clayton! Come cheer on the Comets!

To make the route safer for the students, floats and spectators, Clayton Police are asking drivers to move their cars off the route by 5 p.m. Parking during the day today is fine!

The parade lasts about 20 minutes and comes up Fayetteville Street from the high school, turn right on Main Street, turn right at Lombard and then loop back down Second Street to Fayetteville and back to the school. Clayton Police officers will close the streets to traffic around 6:15 p.m. right before the parade starts and open up Main Street as the parade passes.

Also tonight, The Clayton Center is hosting the Hometown Debate Series from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., organized by the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce. We’ll have several state representatives here from the House and Senate.

Parking will be tricky – we hope everyone will be patient as we accommodate these “hometown” events!
