Clayton Town Council Meeting Canceled Due to Isaias


The Clayton Town Council has cancelled their first regular meeting of the month for August due to the imcoming storm. 

The Town Council will meet in person next on Monday, August 17, 2020 in the Town Council chambers of Town Hall, which remains closed to the public. Anyone wishing to attend the meeting to address the Town Council in person, should contact the Town Clerk Kimberly Moffett at kmoffett@TownofClaytonNC.org or call 919-553-5002.

If you’d like to submit comments to be read into the record by the Town Clerk at the meeting you may email them to the Town Clerk.

Highlights of the agenda include:

• Amending an NCDOT Ordinance for changing the speed limit from 55 to 45 MPH in a section of Laurel Ridge Drive.

• A presentation by CAMPO and GO Triangle on future transit projects and investments in the area

• A resolution to accept the third installment of a NC Governor’s Highway Safety Grant for the Clayton Police Department

• A vote on whether to approve a rezoning request for a parcel of land on Powhatan Road from residential to light-industrial

• An update from the Utilities & Billing Department on unpaid utility bills during the COVID-19 pandemic

• A closed session to discuss personnel issues
