Holiday Closings & Garbage Schedule


All Town of Clayton facilities will be open Monday, December 31.

Town Hall will close at 5 p.m. and the Clayton Library and Clayton Community Center will close at 6 p.m.

All Town facilities will be closed on Tuesday for New Year's Day, Jan. 1.

All Star Waste will not run garbage, recycling or yard waste routes on Tuesday, but catches up quickly so Tuesday routes will be collected Wednesday and Wednesday, Thursday & Friday routes may be collected on their usual day or up to one day later. Please pull your carts out the night before your regularly-scheduled day!


Town of Clayton facilities re-opened Thursday, December 27 following the Christmas holiday. There is one exception - The Clayton Center's box office and auditorium will remain closed through Monday, December 31. You can still find and buy tickets online at

Clayton Parks & Recreation's Community Center got a face-lift and re-finish on the gym flour over the Christmas break. 

All Star Waste did NOT run garbage, recycling or yard waste routes on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25.  Tuesday residents were collected on Wednesday, December 26.  Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday residents may be collected up to ONE day later than normal, but roll those carts out to the curb the night before your normal day anyway because All Star crews catch up FAST! 

Town crews ran Monday's loose leaf route on Friday and took Monday and Tuesday off for Christmas. Collection started back up on Wednesday, December 26. The truck is running Thursday and Friday, Dec. 27-28, to catch up on the rest of the week. There are a tons of leaves out there! Thank you for everyone's patience! 

On Monday, Dec.31 ALL facilities will be open, but since it's New Year's Eve - Town Hall and The Clayton Center will close at 5 p.m. and Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library and the Clayton Parks & Recreation's Community Center will both close at 6 p.m. 

All facilities will be closed for New Year's Day on Tuesday, January 1st and we'll re-open for an awesome start to 2019 on Wednesday, January 2nd. 

Ready to get rid of this year's Christmas tree? Simply leave it by the curb on your pickup day. Just be sure to remove all garland, ornaments and any other decorations. Put trees out by the end of January.

Looking to get cracking on those New Year's resolutions? All of our Town parks will be open as usual for the entire holiday
