Town Council to hold Budget Workshop on May 1

It's almost time for the Town of Clayton to adopt its next spending plan.

The Clayton Town Council will hold a budget workshop 2:30 p.m, Tuesday, May 1 in room GS223 of The Clayton Center, 111 East Second Street in Downtown Clayton.

Town staff has spent much of 2018 crafting a budget for Fiscal Year 2018-19, which runs July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019. At Tuesday's workshop, Town Manager Adam Lindsay will present staff's proposal to the Town Council and take direction from elected officials that will be used to craft a final draft.

Like all Town Council meetings, the workshop is open to the public.

Once staff completes a final budget, copies will be available for the public to review online and in the Town Clerk's office at The Clayton Center.

On May 21, the Town Council will open the floor for the public to share its thoughts on the budget during a regularly-scheduled meeting, 6 p.m. at The Clayton Center. Following the public hearing, the Council will vote on adoption of the budget.
