Just search for your street name and remember, everything - garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste will all be collected on the same day! How convenient! Remember to get your cart to the curb the night before!
Please DO NOT PUT PLASTIC BAGS in your recycling cart! Throw everything in loose - bottles, can, paper - as long as it's dry and fairly clean - it can all be sorted at the plant. But plastic grocery bags can clog the sorting machines, so KEEP OUT PLASTIC BAGS!
Interested in recycling electronics? There are more options in our area than you think. By law, you are not allowed to throw electronics in the garbage. Check out your alternatives to clear out the clutter!
LOOSE LEAF SEASON: Our vacuum collection always runs Oct. 1 to Jan. 31st
If you're containerizing your leaves: All Star IS enforcing our Town Ordinance:
NO BLACK BAGS and NO YARD WASTE EXCEEDING a 6X6X3 VOLUME (that includes bags)!
Keep leaf season simple - All Star offers an amazing solution! To make yard waste more efficient for everyone, you can purchase a brown, 95-gallon "YARD WASTE ONLY" cart for a low price of $50! This is 50% off retail! All Star will service the containers every week at NO additional charge. CALL or TEXT All Star at 919-989-1562 if you have questions OR if you’d like to order one of these new yard waste containers! The yard waste carts are yours to keep once purchased! The $50 cost may not be available when All Star needs to order more.
With All Star, you enjoy WEEKLY yard waste on the same day as garbage/recycling collection.
USE ONLY CLEAR YARD WASTE BAGS: BLACK BAGS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED!! (Black bags are still acceptable for kitchen garbage, they are NOT acceptable for lawn and leaf debris). It’s a matter of efficiency and avoiding confusion. All Star is collecting garbage, recycling, yard waste AND bulk items on the SAME day – that’s a lot of trash and debris at the curb for All Star drivers to sort through. They need to see clearly and quickly that those yard waste bags at the curb are indeed leaves and not other trash (each All Star truck picks up a different waste – one is for garbage, one for recycling and one for yard waste only.) You can still rake leaves to the street during our 4-month loose leaf pick-up season that starts Oct. 1st, you are welcome to put loose leaves in Rubbermaid-like containers or bins all year long (as long as they are no bigger than 50 gallons and don’t weigh more than 40 lbs.), or you can purchase an new All Star Yard Waste container for just $50 for weekly emptying. But if you enjoy bagging leaves, PLEASE, THEY MUST BE IN CLEAR bags from now on! Clear yard waste bags are available at:
and more stores to come!
6X6X3 WEEKLY LIMIT: All Star follows our 6X6X3 ordinance rule, which states that IN TOTAL you cannot have more than the equivalent of a 6 ft. long, 6 ft. deep, 3 ft. volume of yard waste at the curb. Yes, you can have loose piles of limbs (cut to the correct sizes), you can have CLEAR bags of leaves AND you can have containerized yard waste – you CAN have it all - but TOGETHER their total volume must not exceed the 6x6x3 limit each week.
Yard waste that is not prepared properly will NOT be collected, but All Star WILL leave a wire tag so you know why!
NOT IN THE STREET!: Our ordinance has always clearly stated that yard waste should not be set in the street. It can wash down and clog up storm drains AND it can cause traffic hazards. Please set your yard waste piles, bags or containers just back from the curb...NOT in the roadway. Because All Star will be collecting yard waste consistently every week, you don't have to worry about yard waste sitting on your grass or out for weeks. Setting your yard waste out in the street can result in fines.
Limbs are NOT picked up by a giant machine with a claw - they're picked up by a person with their hands. That job is almost impossible when your piles are a massive, tangled mess. Please follow these regulations when placing out your limbs and try to picture whether a human being could actually pick them up and get them into the back of a truck. Limbs have to be cut a specific size and piles also need to be kept a specific size!
- Limbs up to 4” in diameter can't be longer than 6 feet.
- Limbs wider than 4” in diameter need to be cut into lengths of 2 feet or less.
- Limbs greater than 10” in diameter will not be collected.
- A pile of correctly cut limbs should be no more than 6-ft deep from the curb, 6-ft wide and 3-ft high. That's approximately 4 cubic yards picked up every week. If you have multiple piles, the volume of ALL piles can not TOTAL more than the allowed 6X6X3 dimensions. In other words - we allow customers to create multiple piles if that's convenient for them, but if you were to throw all those piles together in one big pile - that pile can not exceed 6X6X3 or roughly 4 cubic yards.
- If you have more limbs out than the dimensions above, NONE of it will be collected—you will receive a notice from All Star that your pile is out of compliance. If you do bring your pile into compliance, they'll pick it up the following week. If you do not, you'll be charged a fee for the yard debris to be picked up.
- Avoid the fee by simply placing the allowed amount of limbs at the curb over the course of a few weeks.
Tommy "Trash" and his team at All Star collect your garbage, recycling, yard waste & bulk items
EVERY WEEK ON THE SAME DAY!
- All garbage and recycling must fit inside your cart - we still are trying to avoid overflowing carts.
- You MUST put out your cart the NIGHT before your pick-up day. All Star will start no earlier than 7 a.m., but as they transition to serving Clayton, we cannot predict what exact time each day they will arrive. It will always vary, so to be safe ALWAYS put your carts out the NIGHT BEFORE!
- NO PLASTIC BAGS in recycling!
- Your garbage goes to the Johnston County landfill, and your recycling will go to the Waste Management recycling facility in Raleigh.
- Yard waste must be bagged in CLEAR plastic bags so drivers can tell it apart from bulky items, which will now be collected each week.
