Welcome the Town of Clayton, North Carolina

The Investigative Division of the Clayton Police Department is made up of eight detectives, a captain that commands the division, and two lieutenants.

One of these lieutenants supervises three detectives who handle the evidence room and general investigations. The other lieutenant supervises two detectives who are responsible for narcotics, juvenile offenses and gang investigations and prevention.

Though the volume of cases in any one area is not high enough to permit complete specialization, the division has detectives who excel in the area of computer crimes, crime scene processing and analysis, and evidence storage and processing.

The members of this division work closely with other agencies to obtain intelligence which assists all involved parties. During the last several years we have worked closely with agencies outside of Johnston County, to include Garner, Raleigh, Durham and Cary.
