Here's a message about what's ahead from our Parks & Recreation Director Scott Barnard:

It is hard to believe the summer is almost over and we are already planning for fall and winter sports.  The retail world knows it and ‘back to school specials’ are everywhere you look. Christmas decorations will be on sale before the temperature dips below 80 and it will be Halloween and time for the Harvest Festival before you know it.

Between now and November, the Town and the Parks and Recreation Department will be making every effort to get the word out about the Parks and Recreation Bond Referendum.  On November 5th, Town of Clayton residents will have an opportunity to decide the timeline and next steps we’ll take in the development of our parks.

Bond Highlights

  • $18 million toward additions and improvements at Municipal, Clayton Community, East Clayton Community and All-Star Parks
  • An addition to the Clayton Community Center for Seniors and Youth Activities
  • Playgrounds, Splash Pad, Artificial Turf Fields, Sports Lighting, Shade for Playgrounds, New Restrooms, Improved and Expanded Parking, Greenways, Trails and more

My commitment is that my department and I will work tirelessly to leverage every town dollar with grants, sponsorships and partnerships to further exceed your expectations.  The improvements we make in our parks are to set Clayton up for the next 20 years as the “Premier Community for Active Families”.
