Clayton Community Center Update

There are some much needed renovations underway at the Clayton Community Center. The front desk is being replaced in order to more effectively serve patrons, the gym floor and track are being refinished and the area between the track and back wall (see picture) is being filled in, in order to provide floor space for more exercise equipment. Construction should start any day, and contractors plan to finish by the end of the year.

Our goal is to welcome our members back into the building after the first of the year. We will continue to follow any guidance set by the NC Governor's office at that time. This means that all indoor programming, including the use of the track and all classes will be on hold. We will continue to welcome you into our parks, at outdoor programs, and on our outdoor walking track.

Youth Basketball Season

The end of October normally brings cool weather, changing leaves and the start of our youth basketball season. However, due to restrictions put in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19, as well as building construction that has kept the Clayton Community Center closed, our winter basketball season is currently on hold.

We are hopeful to be able to offer youth basketball activities in some form after the first of the year. Once a decision on what that may look like has been made, that decision will be widely published so that parents can prepare for any and all activities.

What are we doing to keep everyone safe?

  • All classes will take place outside, under a covered awning.
