East Clayton Community Park, 1774 Glen Laurel Road

This is one of our newest parks.  At this facility we have a picnic pavilion, soccer fields, multipurpose playing fields, a baseball field, 18 hole disc golf course and a one mile trail.  Right now an incredible public-private partnership is raising money to build Clayton's first Universal Playground at this park - a playground where children of all abilities can play!

East Clayton Disc Golf Course, 1774 Glen Laurel Road

This is one of our newest amenities for one of today's fastest growing sports! Developed with the help of volunteers and disc golf enthusiasts from the Capital Area Disc Golf League, the East Clayton Disc Golf Course features 18 "holes" under the canopy of the forested area in the eastern corner of East Clayton Community Park.  Disc golf (often erroneously referred to as frisbee golf) is a flying disc game, as well as a precision and accuracy sport, in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target.

East Clayton Dog Park, 2027 Glen Laurel Road

Your four-legged family members will be in heaven at this park!!  We have about three acres of leash-free play area. We have two enclosed areas - one for small dogs and the other one is for large dogs.  No children under the age of 12 should be in the large dog fenced-in area. You MUST clean up after your dog and ALL dogs MUST wear current rabies tags. Please don't bring food for dogs or humans into the enclosed areas and absolutely NO dogs in heat! Legend Park, 550 City Road

Legend Park is currently closed for Greenway expansion. Construction has begun on a $3.5 million greenway extension that calls for tunneling under O’Neil Street to extend the Sam’s Branch Greenway to Legend Park, giving walkers, runners and bicyclists a safe and scenic trail into Downtown Clayton. This popular trail is part of the East Coast Greenway and connects to the Clayton River Walk on the Neuse section of the statewide Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Currently, the greenway dead ends at O’Neil Street. Read more by clicking here.
