Welcome the Town of Clayton, North Carolina

Camp Clayton FlyerCamp Clayton registration is open for residents and non-residents

Registration is open for the Clayton Parks and Recreation Department’s Camp Clayton summer camp.

The 2021 Camp Clayton theme is “Camp Wayback,” and it will run Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The eight-week camp will begin on Monday, June 7 and end on Friday, Aug. 6.

“This summer campers will step into our time machine for the ultimate exploration experience, said Scott Barnard, Town of Clayton Parks and Recreation Director. “We'll adventure through world history, stepping into a new and immersive time period each week, with diversions ranging from active to artistic.”

Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis, and space for the camp is limited. Parents are encouraged to setup an online RecDesk account at claytonncparks.recdesk.com. Existing RecDesk users should verify their account status prior to the start of registration.

The weekly cost to attend Camp Clayton is $120 per camper for Clayton residents. The weekly cost for non-residents is $180 per camper. There will be no deposit or registration fee collected in 2021, and payment is due in full at the time of registration.

“The health and safety of our campers continues to be our number priority,” said Barnard. “We will follow the most current and up-to-date North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 requirements, CDC recommendations, and Town of Clayton safety procedures.”

To further help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the camp will practice updated cleaning, social distancing, symptom monitoring, contact tracing, and sanitizing procedures. Participants will be placed in groups of 20 campers or less. Per safety guidelines, groups will not mix during camp day.

Facial mask policies will follow the latest safety recommendations. Currently, masks are mandatory and must be worn by all Camp staff, campers, and anyone utilizing the camp facilities.
