37th Annual Clayton Road Race
5K, Health Walk and Tot Trot on Saturday, May 9, 2020

Register Online!

Join the hundreds of people who compete each year in one of the Triangle’s longest-running road races! For almost four decades, the annual Clayton Road Race has brought out everyone from 7-year-olds to 70-year-olds to enjoy a scenic and challenging 5K through Downtown Clayton! Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate.

In 2020, the Road Race will once again start AND finish on Second Street in front of The Clayton Center.

TOT TROT: Would your little one love a race bid and a ribbon of their own? Sign them up for the 0.1-mile tot trot! Kids ages 6 and under will run two city blocks along Second Street and through the finish line!

On race day, register and pick up your timing chip and T-shirt from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at The Clayton Center, 111 East Second Street in Downtown Clayton. Parking is available in lots at The Clayton Center, as well as Clayton High School and anywhere you can find a spot along our downtown streets. Please note that if you park in any lots that open into the race route, you will not be able to leave until the road reopens, which could be as late as 11:00 a.m.

Returning for 2020, racers will be timed by chips that start counting when YOU cross the starting line. Awards will be given to top finishers in different age groups, and water is available at the half-way mark. The top three finishers in each age group receive a hand-made Clayton Road Race mug, crafted in our very own pottery studio at the Clayton Community Center.

This year, the Clayton Road Race is excited to team up with the 2020 Health and Wellness Expo, sponsored by Clayton Women in Networking (WIN). The Health and Wellness Expo will be in Town Square from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. We encourage you to stop by and visit local health and wellness vendors and speakers before or after your run.
