36th Annual Clayton Road Race – USATF Sanctioned 5K, Health Walk and Tot Trot on May 11, 2019

Have you ever wanted to run through the scenic streets of Downtown Clayton? Now’s your chance!

The 36th Annual Clayton Road Race is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 complete with a chip-timed, USA Track & Field sanctioned 5K race for runners ages 7 and up – a 5K health walk for those who just want to get outside and enjoy our beautiful Town – and a 0.1 tot trot for the little ones!

Registration Opens on February 1 for the 2019 race.

Join the hundreds of people who compete each year in one of the Triangle’s longest-running road races!  For more than three decades, the annual Clayton Road Race has brought out everyone from 7-year-olds to 70-year-olds to enjoy a scenic and challenging 5K through Downtown Clayton! Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate.

Would your little one love a race bid and a ribbon of their own? Sign them up for the 0.1-mile tot trot! Kids ages 6 and under will run two city blocks along Horne Street and through the finish line!

On race day, register and pick up your timing chip and T-shirt from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at The Clayton Center, 111 East Second Street in Downtown Clayton. Parking is available in lots at The Clayton Center and Town Square, as well as Clayton High School and anywhere you can find a spot along our downtown roads.

Returning for 2018, racers will be timed by chips that start counting when YOU cross the starting line. That provides ultra-accurate timing and split times at one and two miles! Awards will be given to top finishers in different age groups, and water is available at the half-way mark.

For more info, call the Town of Clayton’s Parks and Recreation Department at 919-553-1550.

Thank you for your patience and good luck to all the runners!
