Program Update Related to New State Guidance on COVID-19:

Updated May 27, 2020

The Clayton Community Center will remain CLOSED to the public until further notice.

ALL programs, classes and events happening at the Clayton Community Center during this time have been canceled and staff will work to reschedule or refund these programs.

Greenways, trails, rerstrooms and open spaces at Town parks are open, but all playgrounds remain closed until further notice by state order.

Follow ClaytonNCParks for virtual recreation events.

Summer Camp:  Clayton Parks & Recreation has made the difficult decision to cancel all 2020 summer camp programs, including the Summer Playground Program and all half-day specialty camps, like teen, art and volleyball camps.

With guidance from the NC Governor’s office on the phased re-opening timeline and the latest health and safety guidelines, we do not feel that operating summer camps with numerous campers is possible at this time.

This decision was not made lightly as we know that many of our families depend on our camps. It was our priority to provide as much official notice as possible to give you time to find alternatives for your family this summer. Refunds will be processed for each participant. Thank you for your understanding and patience. If you have questions, please contact Stephanie Woods at swoods@TownofClaytonNC.org

Spring Sports: Spring youth softball, T-ball and baseball seasons, as well as  spring adult softball and soccer seasons are canceled. Refunds will be processed for each participant. We appreciate your patience as this process can take a few weeks. We’ll continue to monitor the latest health guidance and we hold out hope that we can offer late summer/early fall T-ball/baseball seasons, as well as fall youth/adult softball and soccer seasons.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to monitor the latest information and make decisions in an attempt to keep everyone safe. For the most up-to-date COVID-19 information, please check the NC Department of Health website.
