Clayton Library:

Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
​Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m to 2 p.m.​


Following guidance from health officials, Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library will be closed through April 30. This is an effort to protect vulnerable members of our community and prevent the spread of this pandemic. All programs and activities are canceled through April 30 and staff will work to reschedule. Borrowing will be extended and no late fees will be charged. While our doors will be closed, our online library is always open with hundreds of eBooks, audio books and more! Go to our OverDrive library or our e-iNC library and our special NC children's online library Cancellations include: Homeschool Maker Club, Monday Night Book Club for Adults, Lapsit Storytime, Preschool Storytime, Knit Night, Toddler Music & Movement, Music for Your Health, The Johnston County Poetry Writer’s Group, Howell Woods Pre-K Storytime: Birds!, and Club Connection. Town residents can click here to sign up for a FREE library card remotely and get full access to our online catalog!
