Where can I find a listing of available jobs?

You can find a listing of available jobs on our Job Openings page.  A list of current jobs is also available for viewing at the Human Resources office located in Town Hall at 111 East Second Street, Clayton, NC.

Where can I get an application?

We encourage you to visit our Job Openings page.  On this page, you can electronically apply for any job we have available.  You can also go to  the Job Categories section to see what types of jobs are available and set up email notifications to see when those positions are available.  Of course we will have applications available at the Human Resources office located in Town Hall at 111 East Second Street, Clayton, NC.

Can I email or fax an application?

If you are not going to use our Job Openings page applications are accepted by postal mail, email or in person.  You may mail completed applications to Town of Clayton, Attention Human Resources, P.O. Box 879, Clayton, NC 27528.  Email applications to the Human Resource Director. Applications delivered in person should be taken to the Human Resources Office in Town Hall at 111 East Second Street, Clayton, NC.

If I am applying for multiple positions can I fill out just one application?

At our Job Openings page, you can apply for multiple positions with ease.  If you are applying via a paper application, please complete a separate application for each position.  When applications are received they are forwarded to the appropriate department for consideration.  Turning in separate applications for each desired position ensures that your application is reviewed by each department in a timely manner.

Will someone notify me of the status of my application?

If you apply through our Job Openings page, you will receive an email notice stating we received your application.  All other applications that are mailed or dropped off in person are received in the Human Resources Department.  Qualified applicants are then forwarded to the appropriate department for consideration.  Interviews are scheduled with qualified applicant.  If you were not chosen for an interview, a letter will be mailed to you.  The Town receives many applications so this process may take some time, but you will receive notice or a call for interview.
