Town of Clayton Water Tower at Sunset
Welcome the Town of Clayton, North Carolina

Five FREE Concerts!
Grab a blanket or chair & enjoy a night on Town Square!

The Clayton Downtown Development Association is celebrating the 11th Anniversary of its FREE Town Square Concert Series!  The Town of Clayton appointed advisory board has been bringing awesome performances, family fun and great food and drinks to Downtown Clayton for more than a decade. We got a big boost when One27Homes volunteered to sponsor this year’s series!  We couldn't do it without them, or the support of our local businesses, residents, sponsors and volunteers!

Live music starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 9:30 p.m. on the stage at Town Square. (We moved the start time of the concerts later to hopefully better take advantage of the cool evening air, since many shared concerns about the summer heat when we started earlier!)Food trucks, a bouncy house, beer and wine vendors and much more kick off at 6 p.m.! Bring a blanket, chair and enjoy a great night on the square at 110 W. Main Street in Downtown Clayton.

Thursday, June 21 – Heads Up Penny/Aaron Hamm & the Big River Band
Great music doesn't just happen in Clayton – it's born and bred here! Aaron Hamm & the Big River Band is a band of local boys who grew up in Clayton and who now play their brand of “in-your-face-honky-tonk country” all over the Triangle. Heads Up Penny is made up of all Clayton High School graduates, in fact, they may have served you a hot dog at Jones Cafe in years past! They rocked our stage last year with Clayton-native and Nashville recording artist Kennedy Fitzsimmons and now they’re back by popular demand to play their “Winnebago Soul” music, a sound that mixes blues, rock, country, funk, Americana, and, of course, soul!

Thursday, July 19 – Who’s Bad
Founded in 2003, Who’s Bad’s live performances are unrivaled celebrations of pop music’s one true King. Their power-packed performances of Michael Jackson’s expansive catalog have ignited crowds on every continent. Don’t miss the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute band!

Thursday, August 23 - Spare Change
Spare Change started out in Kinston in 2002 and is now a six-piece band with a three-man crew that tours all over the Southeast. Two guitars, bass, drums, fiddle, five lead singers (including a female vocalist) and a rapper! Their shows are high energy and full of fun party music!

Friday, September 7 – The Embers
Beach music legends and NC Hall of Famers, The Embers will close out the Town Square Concert Series. Craig Woolard and his band will have you on your feet as you enjoy this longstanding and popular group performing heart and soul, rhythm and blues, and feel good music.

Friday, October 19 -  The Breakfast Club
Once again, the Breakfast Club brings back the fun and fashion of the 80s to Town Square. They absolutely rocked the Town Square concert series last year, bringing out hundreds who were ready to dance! The Breakfast Club is the longest running, most recognized ’80’s tribute band in the country. Formed in 1993, the group was the first of its kind, creating an entertainment group that embodied the enigmatic, creative, and buoyant spirit of music and live performances of the original MTV generation of the 1980’s!
