Clayton Leaders on Local TV This Month

Clayton's recent progress and our plans for the future will be the topic of discussion next Wednesday night at 7 pm on the Johnston Journal, a community-based television program focusing on local government in Johnston County.

Robin Gurgainus of the County Human Resources Department will interview Town Manager Steve Biggs on Wednesday, July 16. Recreation Programs Supervisor Susie Jenkins and Fire Chief Lee Barbee were on the program earlier this month.

The program airs on WARZ-TV, Channel 34 of Smithfield. Time Warner Cable subscribers can view it on Channel 5, and customers of Charter Communications can watch it on Channel 6.

The town will be upgrading and expanding its parks system over the next few years, financed through a $4 million bond issue approved by voters earlier this year. The Fire Department is in the midst of a massive upgrade, adding new facilities, new equipment and more firefighters.  Also, the Town Manager will discuss efforts to keep citizens better informed and involved in the community.
