Town Shows Appreciation to Volunteers

The Clayton Town Council has presented certificates of appreciation to the dozens of local volunteers who help run town government through their participation on boards and committees.

A proclamation adopted at the last Council meeting says the town "has an outstanding group of citizen volunteers whose unselfish efforts help to shape our government and offer valuable insights, which can effect positive change."

Mayor Jody McLeod said the town's volunteers "are very much appreciated."

"It makes our jobs so much easier," he told a crowd of volunteers assembled for the ceremony, "and it makes Clayton a much better place."
