Library Book Fair/Reading Program May 2
With summer quickly approaching, the Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library is putting together programs to keep young children reading while school is out.
Two of them---a Scholastic Book Fair and the new Summer Reading Program---are set to start Monday, May 2.
"These programs have gone very well in previous years," said Children's Librarian Kristi Lesmann, "and we're looking forward to another productive summer."
The Book Fair, which features a "buy one, get one free" offer, will end Friday, May 6.
The free Summer Reading Program, open to children from birth to sixth grade, will take participants on a trip around the globe this year, exploring lands from Australia to Zimbabwe through stories, take-home crafts, puppet shows and other activities. "One World, Many Stories" will be full of programs, prizes, story hours and more.
