Summer Playground Program Underway

The Parks & Recreation Department's Summer Playground Program for youngsters 6 to 12 years of age is underway at the Clayton Community Center on Amelia Church Road.

Activities will begin each day at 7:30 am and end at 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

"This has always been a unique program, with a wide variety of activities," said Parks & Recreation Director Larry Bailey.

The Program costs $40 per week per child for residents and $80 per week for non-residents, plus a one-time $25 registration fee per child. Families with more than one child enrolled will get a discount.

Campers are asked to bring a lunch, two drinks and two snacks. Activities include field games in the mornings, followed by various activities in the afternoons, including games, arts and crafts.

The Program ends Aug. 12.
