Standing Room Only for Jake Shimabukuro
Reserved seating for the Saturday, Jan. 28, concert by ukulele sensation Jake Shimabukuro has SOLD OUT, and a limited number of Standing Room Only tickets are available for the 8 p.m. performance.
Shimabukuro (she-ma-boo-koo-row) uses the traditional four-string, two-octave Hawaiian ukulele to create a technically masterful, emotionally powerful sound. Whether he’s performing an original composition or his own arrangements of such classics as Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” or Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” it is apparent that Shimabukuro’s talent is utterly unique in the music world.
Pollstar Magazine said of Shimabukuro, “Jake Shimabukuro is a ukulele player. But that’s like saying Les Paul liked to monkey around with guitars.”
Standing Room Only tickets for the Jake Shimabukuro performance are $12. These spots are truly standing room only; no seats will be available for patrons who purchase tickets for this section. Individual SRO tickets may be purchased online at www.theclaytoncenter.com, by phone at 919-553-1737 or at The Clayton Center Box Office at 111 E. Second St. in downtown Clayton from 10 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
