Senior Adults Trip to State Fair Oct. 19

If you're 55 years-of-age or older and need a ride to the NC State Fair in Raleigh, you're in luck.

The Parks & Recreation Department has a van leaving the new Clayton Community Center at 8 am Tuesday, Oct. 19 for an all-day trip. The van is slated to return to Clayton about 4 pm.

The trip is free and coincides with the Fair's Senior Citizen Day. Please call the department at 553-1555 for more information.

This year's Fair runs Oct. 14 through Oct. 24 and features dozens of events, including performances from Danny Gokey, Casting Crowns, Honor Society, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Easton Corbin, Chris Young, Gloriana, Jeffrey Osborne, Chris Tomlin, Darius Rucker and Justin Moore.

The Parks & Recreation Department also has two ongoing fitness classes and bingo for senior adults continuing this fall.

SENIOR PILATES
Pilate’s classic mat exercises focus
on strengthening the abdominal
core, improving posture and
lengthening for better flexibility
and helps relieve stress. This is a
non-impact workout for everyone
regardless of age or
abilities. Modifications will be
given for inflexible people.
• Mondays - 10:00-10:45am
• Ages 55+

SENIOR FLEX AND STRENGTH
Lo aerobic and toning work geared
toward the individual that has
limited movement, but wants to
stay active at the same time.
• Mondays - 11:00-11:30am
• Ages 55+
• Free

SENIOR BINGO
Prizes awarded to winners.
• Ages 55+
• Every third Monday at 11:00am
