Young Horticulture Students Plant Trees

The 29 students in Johanna Wood's Horticulture Class at Clayton High School got some good "real world" experience recently, helping plant Bald Cypress and Redbud trees along US 70 and Fayetteville Street at the school as part of a town beautification effort.

Certified Arborist John Sugg provided hands-on help with the planting, plus instruction on maintenance and care.

The project was funded through a USDA Urban & Community Forestry grant.
