Clayton Police Detective Earns State Honor

Detective Rob Moyer, a 14-year police veteran, has earned an "Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate" from the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, the highest such honor awarded by the state.

The honor rewards advanced education, training and experience.

"We're very proud of this achievement," said Chief Glen Allen.

Detective Moyer, a member of the Investigative Services Division, is the 25th member of the 42-member Police Force to earn the honor. He worked with the nearby Kinston Police Department before coming to Clayton in 2005.

The Commission’s Professional Certificate Program is designed to reward and recognize officers who continually strive to advance professionally through a variety of schools and training sessions, above and beyond what is required by the state.
