Clayton is "Readers Choice" for Triangle East
Clayton made out very well in this year's Triangle East Magazine's "Readers Choice Awards."
Annie V's Florist, owned by Mayor Jody McLeod, was voted "Best Florist Shop" and the Clayton Steakhouse, owned by Mayor Pro Tem Michael Grannis and wife Betsy, was named "Best Small Business in Clayton."
But Clayton also claimed several more "Bests." Here's the list:
• Matthews Motors - "Best Car Dealership" and "Best Mechanic Shop"
• Main Street Jewelers - "Best Jewelry Store"
• My Girlfriends Place - "Best Place to Pamper"
• Clayton Animal Hospital - "Best Veterinary Hospital"
• The Fred Smith Company - "Best Homebuilding Company"
• Mulberry on Main Italian Restaurant - "Best Italian Restaurant"
• Venero's Pizzeria - "Best Pizzeria"
• Riverwood Golf Club - "Best Golf Course"
• Starbucks - "Best Coffeehouse"
• Clint Eaves of Clayton High School - "Best School Principal"
• Gary Fowler of Clayton High School - "Best High School Coach"
• Riverwood - "Best Residential Neighborhood"
• Clayton Harvest & Music Festival - "Best Local Festival"
• Dr. Dean Strickland of Clayton Eye Clinic - "Best Eye Doctor"
• Lipscomb's Learning Center - "Best Preschool"
• Lawrence Kristoff of Kristoff Law Offices - "Best Attorney"
• Kobe japanese Steakhouse - "Best Asian Restaurant"

The magazine, headquartered in Cary, covers the eastern part of the Triangle Area, including the towns of Garner, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon and Clayton.
