New Policeman Certified in S.W.A.T. Operations

The Clayton Police Department has added a 14-year police veteran with certification in both basic and advanced S.W.A.T. Operations and extensive training in interview and interrogation techniques.

Officer Neal Johnson of Johnston County, a certified Law Enforcement Instructor, just returned from Afghanistan where he worked as a contractor, providing mentoring and advisory services to the Afghan National Police.

"We're happy to have someone of Officer Johnson's expertise and experience join us here in Clayton," Police Chief Glen Allen said. "He's expected to fill an important role in our operations."

Johnson, who has a degree in Criminal Justice from Johnston County Community College, has served With the NC DMV, the State Highway Patrol and the Johnston County Sheriff's Department in addition to his work overseas.
In addition to his other achievements, he also holds specialized certifications as a Firearms and Haz-Mat Instructor.
