Lots of Free Events in July at the Library

Every year about this time, the Hocutt-Elligton Memorial Library becomes the center of attention for a large segment of the town's residents---our youth.

This year is no different, especially with the recently unveiled mural that's drawing lots of attention.

Here's a quick rundown of some special programs coming up at the Library over the next few weeks. All begin at 10 am.

July
2 - Special guest Gina Powell/Library for the Blind @ library.

6 - Ronald McDonald @ Clayton Auditorium.

7 - Meet the Chick-Fil-A Cow @ library.

9 - North Carolina Highway Patrol @ library.

13 - Meet Smokey Bear @ library.

14 - CSX Transportation and Operation Life Saver present Safety and Dangers on or near railroad property! Meet them @ library.

16 - Clayton EMS @ library.

20 - NC Science Museum and Biogen Idec presents: “Wading through the Wetlands.”  You MUST sign-up for this program. Program held @ library.

21 - Meet Bill Reh, Meteorologist from NBC 17 here @ library.

23 - Stories and puppets here @ library.

27 - Johnston County Sheriff Captain Buck Pipkin and his water rescue team will be @ library.

28 - North Carolina Coast Guard crew members will be @ library with a static display of a 25ft patrol boat.

30 - Party!! Outdoor fun, worm races, crafts and more @ library! Refreshments provided and served by The Woman's Club of Clayton.

It's also time to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program.

Last year's participants logged 8,090 hours of reading. The goal for this year is 10,000 hours. Please pick up your reading time logs at the Library.
