"You don't need to be a star athlete to participate in track & field," Hershey's says in its promotional material. "You just need to have fun. And you’ll start having fun from day one. Check this out, the fun part isn’t winning (of course, that’s pretty fun too), but it’s running and jumping and throwing. It’s meeting lots of kids just like you. It’s not a video game, it’s a real game. It’s not watching others on a TV show, it’s being the star of your own show. In one word, it’s awesome."
Hershey's Track & Field Program, created 36 years ago to promote youth physical fitness and provide fun learning experiences for children, attracted hundreds of thousands of participants last year in the United States and Canada. Sponsored by the Hershey candy company, its the largest youth sports program of its kind in North America.
