Harvest Festival Bringing Crowds This Week
The annual Clayton Harvest & Music Festival, Sept. 14-18, is expected to attract more than 20,000 downtown for all sorts of music and other performances, the Clayton Idol competition, a classic car show, Harley Davidson bike show, petting zoo, beer garden and much more.
The crew from Lizard Lick Towing of the popular TruTV reality show will also be there, mingling with the crowds, signing autographs and posing for pictures.
"We look forward to the Harvest Festival all year long," said Mayor Jody McLeod. "This is shaping up to be the best one we've ever had."
Music at the Festival includes Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Motown, Country, Funk, Bluegrass and Rock.
The carnival came to town Wednesday, ushering in a week of food, games, lots of music, and the huge Saturday Arts & Crafts Fair downtown.
Also sure to draw a big crowd is the Righteous Rock Praise Night Friday evening which features music from several local congregations.
This year's Festival will also feature a Pet Fashion Show, martial arts demonstrations and lots of dance and gymnastics demonstrations. Though not officially part of the Festival schedule, party band greats The Castaways will be in concert Thursday evening, Sept. 15 at Town Square as part of the Town Square Concert Series.
