Home/Garden Show at Clayton Center in April

Triangle East Magazine will bring a home & garden show to Clayton in the spring.

The show will feature dozens of booths and displays, as well as lectures and training sessions from home and garden experts.

The "2011 Triangle East Home & Garden Show" is scheduled for April 30 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Clayton Center at 111 E. Second Street in downtown Clayton.

"This is the first live event we're doing in association with the magazine," said Julia Collins, the magazine's events manager. "The point is to help residents of the area connect with home and garden businesses and experts who can help them learn a little bit more about what they want to do. We're really excited about it."

Tickets are $5 with advance online registration at the magazine's web site at https://www.signup4.net/Public/ap.aspx?EID=TEMH10E or $10 at the door. One dollar from each ticket will go to benefit Grow & Share, a Zebulon-based nonprofit working to eliminate hunger across the state through plant giveaways and community gardens.

Among those scheduled to speak is Art Kirkwood of Kirkwood Builders, a four-time Johnston County Parade of Homes "Best of the Best" winner. Kirkwood was also voted "Best Home Builder" in the 2010 Triangle East Readers' Choice Awards.
