Clayton Center Exhibition Features Two Artists
The monthly, free art exhibit at the Clayton Center will feature the paintings of Clayton Artist Kathleen Nobles and Raleigh Artist Ruth Ogle in February.
Nobles, a New Yorker who came to Clayton two years ago by way of Garner and Wilmington, specializes in acrylic and oil painting using vivid colors.
"Since I enjoy exaggerating bold colors, I choose my colors carefully and use a glazing technique to give the finished pieces a rich, luminous look," she said. "This also gives my art works their energy and vibrancy. My goal is interpretation, not imitation, yet I still remain in the realm of reality."
Nobles is a member of Clayton Visual Arts and the Raleigh Artists Guild. You can visit her website at http://noblesartist.com for more information.
Ogle, a New Orleans native, has done extensive work over the years in a variety of media, including acrylics and watercolors.
"I concentrate on drawing and painting with emphasis on light, color and texture," she said. "I am inspired by the beauty of the world around me, and the interaction with the human spirit."
Ogle says she has been an artist "all my life."
