Officer Kevin Cook Promoted to Sergeant

Five-year police veteran Kevin Cook has been promoted to Sergeant in the Traffic Unit of the Clayton Police Department's Special Operations Division.

A familiar face to many local youngsters, Cook has been active in recent years in traffic safety presentations and accident prevention education, both in the schools and for community events.

"Sgt. Cook is a valuable member of our department," said Chief Glen Allen. "We congratulate him on his recent promotion."

He holds an Intermediate Law Enforcement Certification from the NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission, in addition to several other specialty certifications, including police motorcycle operations. He is in the process of seeking a degree from Johnston Community College.

Cook worked with the Zebulon Police Department before coming to Clayton.
