Ceramics Class Set to Begin May 7
Ever wanted to design and make your own ceramic beads, pendants or bracelets? If so, now's your chance.
The Parks & Recreation Department is offering a three-week class in May to "explore the endless possibilities of ceramic bead design."
The class, for ages 16 and up, begins Saturday, May 7 from 2 to 5 pm at the Clayton Community Center. The cost is $40 for residents and Clayton Center members and $55 for non-residents.
"If you can roll clay into a ball , then you have the basic skills to begin making ceramic beads!," according to the class promotional literature. "Further lessons include shaping, texturing, stamping, cutting, carving, molding, decorating and glazing to create your very own unique beads, focal beads, pendants even bracelets! Clay, glazes and firings are included."
The instructor is Julie Rowe.
The class will be repeated later in the summer, beginning July 16.
