Volunteers Needed for Bocce Tournament

The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to help score and officiate the upcoming Bocce tournament at Clayton Community Park.

Those willing to help will be trained and prepared for the job, said Department Director Larry Bailey.

"We've had a core group who have been helping us for a few years now, but we've got a lot more registering to play this year," Bailey said. "We know we're going to need a lot more volunteers."

The town will host the NC Senior Games State Bocce Tournament Oct. 12, 13 and 14 at Community Park's Bocce complex off Guy Road. The Regional Special Olympics Bocce Qualifier was held here in September.
