Grant Funding Available for Local Art Projects
The Town of Clayton is inviting cultural organizations and programmers to apply for funding that would support cultural arts activities and programs here during 2011.
In its fourth year, the Town of Clayton Cultural Arts Grant program will support activities that foster development and growth of the arts to benefit Clayton residents.
"Our reputation as an arts community depends on the wonderful artists we have in this area, and we want to offer them all the support we can," said Mayor Jody McLeod. "We've awarded more than $40,000 in grants since the program began a couple of years ago, and we've been very happy with the results."
The Cultural Arts Grant process was initiated in 2008 to generate more interest in cultural arts programming and to develop a process to effectively and efficiently allocate resources with sound and clear methods for decisions. It is the goal of the Town that grant funding will generate more interest in arts programming and encourage citizens to step forward to lead new cultural arts activities.
Applications are available at the main lobby desk in The Clayton Center located at 111 East 2nd Street in downtown Clayton or by clicking here.
The deadline to complete an application is Friday, July 30.
Questions regarding the grant application should be directed to Heidi Stump, Executive Director of The Clayton Center, at 553-3152.
