Art Faire Winners Announcement Thursday

Winners in the 13th Annual Clayton Art Faire Artists Competition will be announced Thursday, Sept. 8 during a free reception at the Clayton Center.

Everyone is invited, and dress is casual. The reception, scheduled for 6 pm to 7:30 pm, is sponsored by the Woman's Club of Clayton.

Six prizes totaling $1,825 is going to this year's winners, as well as exhibition at the Clayton Center during September.  

The top prizes are the two $750 "Margaret Ritchie Awards of Excellence," named in honor of the longtime newspaper editor and arts supporter who died two years ago--one for art and another for photography.   

Three "Judge's Choice Award" winners will get $100 each, and a "People's Choice Award" winner, which will be voted on by those who attend, will get $25.  

Last year’s big winners were Frank Dziepak of Clayton, Bill Wells of Smithfield and Doug Strickland of Benson.
