2011 Art Faire Artists Competiton Underway
The 13th Annual Clayton Art Faire Artists Competition is underway, with $1,825 going to this year's winners, as well as exhibition at the Clayton Center.
Artists have until Wednesday, Aug. 31 to get their entries and registration form in. Winners will be announced Sept. 8 at the Clayton Center during a reception for those who enter.
The top prizes are the two $750 "Margaret Ritchie Awards of Excellence," named in honor of the longtime newspaper editor and arts supporter who died two years ago--one for art and another for photography.
Three "Judge's Choice Award" winners will get $100 each, and a "People's Choice Award" winner will get $25.
The artwork will be on display at The Clayton Center during September.
Entries must be original and can include paintings in a all media, printmaking, photography, graphics, mixed media, collage and fiber art. All entries must be prepared for display and ready for hanging. Please check the Faire Brochure for details.

Last year’s winners were Frank Dziepak of Clayton, Bill Wells of Smithfield and Doug Strickland of Benson. Each received a $600 Award of Excellence.
