Police Department Adds Two New Officers

You'll be seeing two new policemen around town, Army Veteran Owen Phillips and Former Sheriff's Deputy Drew Medlin.

Phillips, a Clayton High School graduate, comes to the police force after three years with the Smithfield Police Department. He is working on an AAS Degree at Johnston County Community College.

Medlin, trained as a School Resource Officer, come to the force after seven years with the Johnston County Sheriff's Department.

Both new officers are Intoxilyzer certified.
