Millstock Music & Arts Faire Downtown June 5

Put Saturday, June 5 on your calendar for a full day of music and art downtown.

It's the 10th Annual Millstock Music & Arts Faire, featuring live music, an antique auto show, a wine tasting and dozens of artists along Main street.

The Faire begins at 10 am and runs until 6 pm.

Music will be featured on a main stage on S. Lombard Street as well as various locations on E Main Street. Most of the downtown restaurants will be open for lunch and dinner and a number of downtown businesses will also remain open.

Main stage music starts at 11 am with the following bands:

* Johnny Orr & Southstation
* Mike MickXer
* Archbishops of Blount St.
* D. Martini & the Highballs

Emerging folk-blues group Megafaun, with music described as “nuanced, neo-folk,”  will perform from 4:30 pm – 6 pm on the main stage.

Main Street will be closed from Smith Street to Fayetteville Street from 5 am to 6 pm. S. Lombard Street from Main Street to Second Street will be closed until about 8 pm.

The Millstock committee, comprised of members from the Downtown Development Association, Clayton Visual Arts and the Coffee Mill, has placed an increased focus on several key areas in an effort to enhance this year's festivities:

• Expanding the festival on Main Street
• Increasing the number of artists
• More activities for children as well as adults
• Continuing to bring the musical talent for which Millstock has become famous.

Registration forms for the Chalk It Up Sidewalk Art Contest are available at The Coffee Mill and online at www.downtownclayton.org

Last year's Faire attracted crowds of more than 1,500 downtown.
