Weekly Curbside Leaf Vacuuming Underway

Piles of leaves in your yard? Not for long.

The Street and Property Maintenance Department has begun its weekly curbside leaf vacuuming program. They'll get to your home on the week day following your regularly scheduled household trash pickup.

Public Works and Utilities Director Tim Simpson says leaves must be piled behind the curb, and limbs, branches and other yard waste must be removed from the piles. Leaves containing yard waste will not be removed.

He said residents should take care to remove leaves from the street, where they can cause storm drainage problems and affect traffic.

Residents may also bag or containerize their leaves.  Curbside leaf vacuuming will continue through March 1st.
