New Irrigation Rules as of April 8, 2008
The Town of Clayton will begin allowing irrigation on the following days based on the address assigned to the individual property:
· No irrigation on Mondays
· Odd number addresses – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
· Even number addresses – Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
Residents and businesses may irrigate consistent with the schedule shown whether they use an in ground irrigation system or hand watering. The same schedule will apply for personal car washing and other non essential uses of water.
Owners of property with inground irrigation systems should be reminded that they must have their backflow prevention device tested and certified prior to initiating seasonal operation.
Customers are further reminded to utilize their irrigation systems as necessary to maintain their lawn, shrubs, and ornamentals but continue to be mindful of conservation. The Town has adopted a progressive tier rate structure that charges a premium for high levels of water consumption. The rate strucutre is shown below for your reference:
