Finance Department Earns High Praise
The Town's Finance Department, highly lauded in financial circles over the last few years, received more good marks recently when the Town's auditor praised the Department's professionalism in a report to the Town Council.
Town Auditor Kenneth R. Anderson said the Department, led by Finance Director/Assistant Town Manager Nancy Medlin, is doing "a great job."
"I think it's a well-run organization, with all the T's crossed and the I's dotted," Anderson said.
His words echo what others around the country have been saying for years. In fact, Medlin has won her profession's highest award the last seven years in a row.
Her department's 2006-2007 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada--just like the previous six years. It's the highest honor they award.
