Walden Woods Getting Electric Upgrades

Residents in Walden Woods Subdivision may experience short power outages from time to time over the next four to six weeks while work crews upgrade electric lines in the area.

Clayton Public Power will be replacing old underground cable, installing four junction enclosures and replacing several transformer enclosures with new pad-mounted transformers.

"This work is being done to enhance service reliability," said Electric System Director Ronnie Wood. "We have had some power outages in that area due to cable failure in the past, and given the age and condition of the facilities, we can only expect that to continue. Most of the primary cable and transformer enclosures are as old as the subdivision."

Over the next few weeks, workmen will be concentrating mostly in the area of the circle near the pool and recreation area.
