Attention Artists and Art Supporters!

Our popular Clayton Sculpture Trail is wrapping up its 4th season and we're gearing up to select more new sculptures to adorn Downtown Clayton and beyond for the next year!

The Town of Clayton, NC and our Public Art Advisory Board are pleased to announce the Call for Artists for our 2017-2018 Sculpture Trail.  We can’t emphasize enough how popular this rotating art trail has become!  People just love it!  And we want to keep it going and continue expanding it!

This past year, we had 11 locations/sculptures and this year we’re working to possibly add several more. Clayton has seen how much art has enhanced our downtown and our community!  We get it!  So please enter as many sculptures as you’d like…there is no application fee!!

Just click on the headline at the top of this story for the details and application. The deadline is Monday,  April 3, 2017.  Sculptures are displayed from mid-May/early-June 2017 to May 2018.  Selected artists receive a $1,000 stipend, plus have the chance at an additional $1,000 if chosen as a People’s Choice winner!

Apply yourself or share with your friends, members or any other organizations or artists you feel might want to participate! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send an email or give me a call.

There are 11 or more possible locations, including three in Horne Square on Main Street, two in Town Square, one at the Clayton Library, one at The Clayton Center, one in the circle on the East Front Street extension, and one at the Clayton Community Center. The pieces are reviewed and selected by a committee of local artists, community and business people, Town staff and the Public Art Advisory Board.

The artists are also featured on brochures that are distributed to businesses and organizations throughout the area.
